What faith-based means here
What Faith Based Treatment Actually Involves
Four things that happen every week a man is here, built into the program alongside the clinical work.
Church on Sunday, and Bible study in the week
A nondenominational church the men attend together, and scripture study built into the schedule rather than offered as an optional extra. No denominational test, and nothing to sign.
A week in the programThe twelve steps, with a sponsor
Real step work, and you will be expected to get a sponsor and use him. The higher power is named as God, and for a lot of men that is the part that finally holds.
The 12 steps hereTrauma therapy and scripture, in the same treatment plan
EMDR, brain mapping and polyvagal-informed work sit alongside spiritual mentorship, because the model this program runs on treats them as one job. It is called NeuroFaith™ and it was written as a book before it was a schedule.
How NeuroFaith™ worksIdentity work, not just sobriety
The question the program keeps asking is who a man is, rather than only what he did. Men arrive doubting, angry at God, or having not thought about it since childhood, and all of that is allowed in the room.
Common questions
Why a men's rehab
Rehab for Men, and What That Changes
Every level is men only, from residential through outpatient. Here is what that actually does to a week of treatment.
Men talk more openly with no women in the room
It is the most consistent thing the clinical team sees in group. The things a man will not say in front of women are usually the things he came here to deal with.
You live, train and do the step work together
The brotherhood is built out of shared days rather than a shared label: the same house, the same gym, the same groups, the same twelve steps.
The therapists work with male trauma specifically
What men carry and what they are permitted to say about it are different things. A drug rehab for men can treat that directly instead of working around it.
The men you meet here stay in your life
Alumni come back years later, and they come back for the room and the people in it. That is what the whole program is built to produce.
The twelve steps
The 12 Steps of AA, With the Higher Power Named
Step work is not an evening activity here. It runs through the program, you are expected to find a sponsor and use him, and the step you are on is something your therapist knows about.
- A sponsor is required, not encouraged
- Step work is tracked alongside clinical treatment
- AA and NA meetings in the week, and after you leave
- The higher power is named as God
Start anywhere
Most people meet the steps before they ever meet a treatment program. If that is where you are, these are a good place to start.
Questions
Christian Rehab: Common Questions
Whether you need a faith to come, what the week actually holds, and why it is men only.

- Do I have to be a Christian to come here?
- No. Men arrive doubting, curious, angry at God or with no faith at all, and all of them are welcome exactly as they are. Nobody signs a statement of faith to get a bed. Many find or renew a faith while they are here; nobody is required to bring one.
- What makes this different from a rehab that happens to be Christian?
- Most faith based treatment programs add church and Bible study to an otherwise ordinary clinical schedule. The model here, NeuroFaith™, was written as a book and treats the neuroscience and the faith as one piece of work: brain mapping and EMDR alongside scripture and spiritual mentorship.
- What denomination are you?
- Nondenominational, including the church the men attend. There is no doctrinal test and no denominational requirement, for staff or for clients.
- What does the Christian part actually look like in a week?
- Bible study, church on Sundays, and identity work that asks who a man is rather than only what he did. It runs alongside clinical therapy rather than replacing it. More on how the Christian and clinical sides fit together.
- Why is it men only?
- Because this is a men's rehab center by design: men say more when there are no women in the room, and the brotherhood that forms is the thing alumni name first. Every level from residential through IOP is men only.
- Do you use the twelve steps?
- Yes, properly. A sponsor is required and the step work is real. See the 12 steps in our program.
- I am a veteran. Is this still the right place?
- Often yes. The founder was a wildland firefighter and the program was built around trauma, so veterans and first responders make up a large part of it. See rehab for veterans and how TRICARE works here.
- My husband is not religious. Will he hate it?
- Some men arrive braced for that and find it is not what they expected, because nothing is performed at them. If he would genuinely rather a secular program, admissions will say so rather than sell you a place. Start at the page for families.

I was hesitant on coming to this facility, but I'm very glad I did. It definitely enforces the guidelines for building a structured life while having some freedom to still feel like a person. The camaraderie and brothers you make here helped with my recovery exponentially. The staff and therapists at Holdfast take your issues and needs to heart and assist to the best of their abilities.
Alec ReddingVerified Google reviewHoldfast was instrumental in getting my loved one on the road to recovery. Very thankful for the faith based approach while also applying expertise in the field of addiction and recovery. A wonderful ratio of providers to patients for one on one therapy and support. My loved one left after completing a 90 day program with a plan, community and a sponsor. A new lease on life! Our biggest thanks to Holdfast and prayers for the success of your future clients.
Dana KaupieVerified Google reviewHoldFast is a place where God restored me from the inside out. It’s more than a recovery program, it’s a Christ-centered brotherhood that helped me rebuild my life on solid ground. Through prayer, Scripture, and real accountability, I learned how to cling to God in every season and rediscovered my identity in Christ building a life of sobriety. I leave HoldFast renewed, anchored, and grateful for the grace and strength I found here, taking it one day at a time.
Scott ThibodauxVerified Google reviewCombination of Neuro Faith' Therapist, Christian based teachings. Listening and sharing each clients experiences and thoughts about we were being taught in group meetings. Also encouraged to go to AA meetings, Church and Bible Study. I haven't sobriety for 96 Days straight since i was 15. Daily prayer and meditation combined with the Hold Fast App daily reflection schedule allowed me to stay focused on my goals of God and sobriety. I knew no one in Prescott when I moved here, now I have a brotherhood and Fellowship of Men that 100% i can count on. I am currently on Step 11 and plan on Sponsoring others as well as continuing in volunteering for others needs and bringing others to sobriety. I have a beautiful new life now that. Hold Fast brought me back ty rean honest self. Thank you Staff. I am now closer with my family.
Lui RodriguezVerified Google reviewHoldFast Recovery is "hands down" the best treatment center I have ever been to. Between the staff and brotherhood, there is genuinely something special about this place. If you're trying to find renewed faith and become the best version of yourself, you've come to the right spot. Be prepared to put in the work!
Cryss Cross CurryVerified Google reviewUnlike no other. Holdfast has been a life saving Christian based spirit filled residential treatment center based on the 12 steps. Instead of dreading the classes and meetings I look forward to all of it. The brotherhood of men here is very strong and I’m healing Godspeed.
