The Root Underneath It
The order matters. Programs that insist on sobriety before they will treat the mental health are asking a man to give up the thing that was managing it, and then wait.
A substance use disorder and a mental health condition at the same time, treated together rather than in sequence. It is also a licensing category, and we hold it, which is a checkable fact rather than a marketing line.
Can I come for the mental health alone?
No. This is a substance use program that is licensed to treat the mental health conditions that come with it, which is not the same thing as a standalone mental health facility. If there is no substance use in the picture, admissions will say so on the call and point you somewhere that fits, rather than take you through an assessment for a program that is not built for you.
