The Root Underneath It
Almost nobody arrives here having set out to misuse a prescription. There was pain, or an inability to concentrate, or no sleep, and something worked. The treatable question is what the drug was solving, because that problem does not disappear when the prescription does.
I still have a valid prescription. Is that a problem?
No, and it is common. Bring the bottle and the prescriber’s details. The medical team reviews everything you are taking, and where a drug should continue it continues.
Will you tell my doctor?
Only with your permission. Where you want us to coordinate with your prescriber we will, and where you do not, we work with what you bring us.
Is this the same as the opioid program?
It overlaps. If the prescription is an opioid, the opioid page describes the clinical side in more detail, and benzodiazepines have their own page because the taper is different again.
