The Root Underneath It
Benzodiazepines are nearly always treating something. Taking them away without treating that is why so many people end up back on them, and it is the reason this is a ninety day program rather than a taper.
That is a question for a doctor who can see you, not for us and not for the internet. What we can say is that benzodiazepine withdrawal is one of the genuinely risky ones and that it needs medical supervision. Admissions will help you find it.
I was prescribed them. Am I an addict?
Dependence and addiction are not the same thing and plenty of men here arrived dependent on something a doctor prescribed in good faith. The label matters less than whether you can stop, and whether the thing it was prescribed for has ever been treated.
