Who We Help
A men’s program in Arizona, and it helps to know that in the first thirty seconds rather than after a flight. If we are not the right fit, admissions will say so and tell you where to look.
- Men, 18 and over, at every in-person level of care
- Veterans and first responders, by a founder who is one
- Working professionals who need the leave paperwork to work
- The families who make the call before he does

Where to start
Six Ways Men Arrive Here
These are entry points rather than categories. Most men fit more than one, which is the normal case rather than a complication.
Christian men
Every level of care is men only, 18 and over. Church, the twelve steps and trauma therapy running together rather than stacked.
Christian menVeterans
The VA route, TRICARE West, and what happens when you have already been placed somewhere by a system more than once.
VeteransFirst responders
Firefighters, police, paramedics and dispatch, by a founder who was the lookout the day his crew was lost.
First respondersWives, mothers and families
One call in five here is somebody ringing about another adult. What you can find out before he has agreed to anything.
Wives, mothers and familiesProfessionals and business owners
FMLA and short-term disability paperwork handled, so the leave is possible and the job survives it.
Professionals and business ownersComing from out of state
Most men here flew in. The pickup at Sky Harbor, and aftercare arranged back where you live.

What Actually Decides Whether This Fits
- A clinical assessment. It takes one call and costs nothing
- Whether you need to withdraw somewhere medical first, which we arrange and then collect you from
- Which level of care the last six months actually point to
- What your plan covers, which verification answers rather than guesswork
Said on the first call
We are not a detox, we do not accept Medicare or Medicaid, and the in-person program is men only. Admissions says all three up front rather than after you have booked something.

Who We Help: Common Questions
Ages, whether you fit more than one, and who this program is not right for.

- Is this only for men?
- Every level of in-person care is a men’s program, from residential through outpatient, and that is deliberate rather than administrative: men tend to say the true thing faster in a room with no women in it. The one exception is Voyager, our virtual program, which is open to adult men and women across Arizona.
- What ages do you take?
- Eighteen and over, and mostly men from their mid-twenties through their fifties. Men have been admitted here into their eighties. It is not a house full of twenty-year-olds, which matters to the professionals, fathers and veterans who make up most of it.
- What if I fit more than one of these?
- Most men do. A veteran who is also a working father coming from out of state is the normal case rather than a complication, and the pages are entry points rather than categories you get sorted into.
- What if none of them describe me?
- Call anyway. The list covers who arrives most often, not who we are limited to, and admissions would rather spend five minutes telling you honestly that we are not the right fit than have you work it out after a flight.
- Who is Holdfast not right for?
- Anyone who needs a medical detox first, which we arrange elsewhere and then collect you from. We also do not accept Medicare or Medicaid, including AHCCCS. Both of those get said on the first call rather than after you arrive.

Our clinical modelNeuroFaith™Our clinical model, co-authored by Holdfast co-founder Tim Hayden and published as a book. It pairs neuroscience with Christian faith: brain mapping, polyvagal-informed therapy and EMDR alongside Bible study and spiritual mentorship.
Strength and recoveryThe Resilience LabA fitness room and a recovery room, run by Bobby Figueroa, who spent twenty years in the US Army, much of it in Special Forces. Strength training, plus cold plunge, saunas, red light and vibration. AnchorPoint clients are brought here to use it.
Named by the client as a selling pointEquine therapyReal horses, on open ground, as part of the week rather than a novelty. A real herd on open ground, and for a lot of men the first hour in months where nothing is being asked of them in words.
Outdoors, most daysAdventure therapyHikes, canyons and lake days across northern Arizona. This is an open program, not a locked facility, and the outdoors is in the schedule rather than offered as a reward at the end of it.

I was hesitant on coming to this facility, but I'm very glad I did. It definitely enforces the guidelines for building a structured life while having some freedom to still feel like a person. The camaraderie and brothers you make here helped with my recovery exponentially. The staff and therapists at Holdfast take your issues and needs to heart and assist to the best of their abilities.
Alec ReddingVerified Google reviewHoldfast was instrumental in getting my loved one on the road to recovery. Very thankful for the faith based approach while also applying expertise in the field of addiction and recovery. A wonderful ratio of providers to patients for one on one therapy and support. My loved one left after completing a 90 day program with a plan, community and a sponsor. A new lease on life! Our biggest thanks to Holdfast and prayers for the success of your future clients.
Dana KaupieVerified Google reviewHoldFast is a place where God restored me from the inside out. It’s more than a recovery program, it’s a Christ-centered brotherhood that helped me rebuild my life on solid ground. Through prayer, Scripture, and real accountability, I learned how to cling to God in every season and rediscovered my identity in Christ building a life of sobriety. I leave HoldFast renewed, anchored, and grateful for the grace and strength I found here, taking it one day at a time.
Scott ThibodauxVerified Google reviewCombination of Neuro Faith' Therapist, Christian based teachings. Listening and sharing each clients experiences and thoughts about we were being taught in group meetings. Also encouraged to go to AA meetings, Church and Bible Study. I haven't sobriety for 96 Days straight since i was 15. Daily prayer and meditation combined with the Hold Fast App daily reflection schedule allowed me to stay focused on my goals of God and sobriety. I knew no one in Prescott when I moved here, now I have a brotherhood and Fellowship of Men that 100% i can count on. I am currently on Step 11 and plan on Sponsoring others as well as continuing in volunteering for others needs and bringing others to sobriety. I have a beautiful new life now that. Hold Fast brought me back ty rean honest self. Thank you Staff. I am now closer with my family.
Lui RodriguezVerified Google reviewHoldFast Recovery is "hands down" the best treatment center I have ever been to. Between the staff and brotherhood, there is genuinely something special about this place. If you're trying to find renewed faith and become the best version of yourself, you've come to the right spot. Be prepared to put in the work!
Cryss Cross CurryVerified Google reviewUnlike no other. Holdfast has been a life saving Christian based spirit filled residential treatment center based on the 12 steps. Instead of dreading the classes and meetings I look forward to all of it. The brotherhood of men here is very strong and I’m healing Godspeed.
