Every level of care
ASAM Levels of Care
A full continuum in Arizona, residential through outpatient, with one licensed clinical team the whole way. Admissions checks your insurance before anything is booked.

Residential
Living on site, 24/7 · About 30 days
Live-in care with clinical staff on site around the clock. Most men start here.
- 24/7 clinical supervision
- Daily individual and group therapy
- No phone confiscation, no blackout period

Holdfast Recovery
Partial Hospitalization
Mon–Fri, 8:00am–3:30pm · About 30 days
A full clinical day with sober living and daily transport included. Virtually the same level of care as residential; you just do not sleep in the building.
- 37.5 hours a week
- Sober living and transport included
- Where most step-downs land

Holdfast Recovery
Intensive Outpatient
Mon–Fri or 3 mornings, 8:00am–12:00pm · About 30 days
Mornings on campus, afternoons your own, housing still included. The three-day schedule exists so a man can go back to work without leaving treatment.
- 20 or 12 hours a week
- Sober living still included
- FMLA and disability paperwork handled

Holdfast Recovery
Sober Living
Alongside PHP and IOP · Across the outpatient continuum
A structured house with the men from your own program, and a ride to treatment every morning. Part of the program rather than something you go and find.
- Daily transport to treatment
- The men from your groups
- Not a room you rent separately

Holdfast Recovery
Virtual IOP
By video · The last stage
For Arizona residents who have finished in person and gone home. A step down, not a way in.
- Arizona residents only
- The clinicians you already know
- Not an entry point

Holdfast Recovery
Outpatient
About one day a week · Ongoing
The lightest level and the last rung, for men who stayed in the area. Community outpatient with the therapist you already have.
- Roughly one day a week
- For men who stayed local
- A maintenance level, not a start

Partner facilities
Detox placement
At a partner facility · Before anything else
Admissions works out whether you need one, places you with a partner in Phoenix or Scottsdale, and collects you when you are clear.
- Not delivered here
- Placement and collection
- Treatment starts the same day

Holdfast Recovery
Aftercare & Alumni
Ongoing · No end date
A plan built weeks before discharge, alumni meetings and an app, and a door that opens both ways. Not "good luck, we will see you later".
- Plan built before you leave
- Alumni meetings, groups and an app
- A route back if you need it
What does not change
The Parts That Run Through Every Level
Embedded in the clinical program at every level of care.

Our clinical model
NeuroFaith™
Our clinical model, co-authored by Holdfast co-founder Tim Hayden and published as a book. It pairs neuroscience with Christian faith: brain mapping, polyvagal-informed therapy and EMDR alongside Bible study and spiritual mentorship.
NeuroFaith™
Strength and recovery
The Resilience Lab
A fitness room and a recovery room, run by Bobby Figueroa, who spent twenty years in the US Army, much of it in Special Forces. Strength training, plus cold plunge, saunas, red light and vibration. AnchorPoint clients are brought here to use it.
The Resilience Lab
Named by the client as a selling point
Equine therapy
Real horses, on open ground, as part of the week rather than a novelty. A real herd on open ground, and for a lot of men the first hour in months where nothing is being asked of them in words.
Equine therapy
Outdoors, most days
Adventure therapy
Hikes, canyons and lake days across northern Arizona. This is an open program, not a locked facility, and the outdoors is in the schedule rather than offered as a reward at the end of it.
Adventure therapy
Therapies used across every level
Trauma First, Then Everything Else
The working assumption is that the substance was the solution to something. Deal with that and the rest has somewhere to go.
- EMDR
- Trauma-focused individual therapy
- Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
- Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
- Sociometrics
- HeartMath®
- Psychiatric care and medication management
- Group therapy
- Equine therapy
- Adventure therapy
- Strength training and recovery
- Twelve-step work
- Bible study
- Family support
- What levels of care do you offer?
- Residential through outpatient. Residential is delivered by AnchorPoint, our brother program; PHP, IOP, sober living, virtual IOP and outpatient are Holdfast. Detox is at a partner facility: admissions places you with one and collects you afterwards.
- How long is the whole program?
- Around ninety days for most men: roughly thirty in residential, then about sixty across PHP and IOP with housing. Longer is available and is often the right call. Men step down when the clinical picture says they are ready.
- Where do I start?
- A short clinical conversation settles it. Most men start at residential, some at PHP after a detox or a stay somewhere else. Admissions will tell you honestly if a lighter level is not enough for where you are.
- Why are there two names?
- Holdfast Recovery is licensed for partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient and outpatient care. AnchorPoint is the brother program that delivers residential. Much of the clinical staff works across both, so moving between them is a change of schedule rather than a transfer to strangers.
- What runs through every level?
- The NeuroFaith™ model, trauma-first therapy with EMDR, equine and adventure work, the Resilience Lab, and the brotherhood. Those do not change as the schedule lightens; the hours do.
- Do I have to be a Christian?
- No. The program is Christ-centered and does not pretend otherwise, and men arrive doubting, curious or with no faith at all. Nobody signs a statement of faith to get in. See how the Christian and clinical sides fit together.
- Do you take my insurance?
- We work with most major carriers. Admissions runs the verification with your plan and comes back with what is covered at each level before anyone commits.

Who built this
Nineteen Men Went Up the Hill. One Came Back.
On 30 June 2013, nineteen Granite Mountain Hotshots died on the Yarnell Hill Fire. Brendan McDonough was twenty-one and posted as the crew's lookout. He radioed the warning, and he was the only one who came home.
Hollywood made the crew's story into Only the Brave in 2017, with Miles Teller playing Brendan. What the film does not cover is the part he talks about now: the depression, the PTSD, and the drinking underneath all of it. He got sober, and then built the place he had needed and could not find.
Which is why trauma is treated as the cause here rather than the complication, and why nobody at Holdfast will tell a family that ninety days fixes a man.

I was hesitant on coming to this facility, but I'm very glad I did. It definitely enforces the guidelines for building a structured life while having some freedom to still feel like a person. The camaraderie and brothers you make here helped with my recovery exponentially. The staff and therapists at Holdfast take your issues and needs to heart and assist to the best of their abilities.
Alec ReddingVerified Google reviewHoldfast was instrumental in getting my loved one on the road to recovery. Very thankful for the faith based approach while also applying expertise in the field of addiction and recovery. A wonderful ratio of providers to patients for one on one therapy and support. My loved one left after completing a 90 day program with a plan, community and a sponsor. A new lease on life! Our biggest thanks to Holdfast and prayers for the success of your future clients.
Dana KaupieVerified Google reviewHoldFast is a place where God restored me from the inside out. It’s more than a recovery program, it’s a Christ-centered brotherhood that helped me rebuild my life on solid ground. Through prayer, Scripture, and real accountability, I learned how to cling to God in every season and rediscovered my identity in Christ building a life of sobriety. I leave HoldFast renewed, anchored, and grateful for the grace and strength I found here, taking it one day at a time.
Scott ThibodauxVerified Google reviewCombination of Neuro Faith' Therapist, Christian based teachings. Listening and sharing each clients experiences and thoughts about we were being taught in group meetings. Also encouraged to go to AA meetings, Church and Bible Study. I haven't sobriety for 96 Days straight since i was 15. Daily prayer and meditation combined with the Hold Fast App daily reflection schedule allowed me to stay focused on my goals of God and sobriety. I knew no one in Prescott when I moved here, now I have a brotherhood and Fellowship of Men that 100% i can count on. I am currently on Step 11 and plan on Sponsoring others as well as continuing in volunteering for others needs and bringing others to sobriety. I have a beautiful new life now that. Hold Fast brought me back ty rean honest self. Thank you Staff. I am now closer with my family.
