Bio

Mark Branson

EMDR Therapist

I am a licensed professional counselor in Arizona with extensive education, training, and experience supporting individuals navigating complex trauma and its effects, including post-traumatic stress, substance use and addiction, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationship challenges, and major life transitions.

At the heart of my work is the therapeutic relationship—creating a safe, calm, and welcoming space where clients feel accepted, respected, and genuinely cared for. Within this environment, I help individuals develop practical coping and self-care skills, strengthen relationships, and build confidence and self-efficacy. Together, we explore past experiences, process trauma, and work toward healing, growth, and a deeper sense of meaning and purpose, strengthening individual recovery.

I approach each client with compassion, humility, and a commitment to truly listening and understanding. I strive to foster a sense of gentle hope while equipping individuals with the tools and insight needed for lasting, positive change.

My counseling style is person-centered, solution-focused, and strength-based. I integrate evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral and Cognitive Process Therapy (CBT/CPT), with Somatic and Polyvagal informed practices, EMDR, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy and Motivational Interviewing. My work is grounded in a Biblical Christian worldview, which informs my perspective on healing, purpose, and personal growth.

My background in human services began in 1994, following several years teaching conversational English in Japan. I worked in a community mental health setting from 2010 to 2020 and established a private practice in 2018.

It is a privilege to walk alongside individuals on their path to healing and growth. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you and support you in your recovery, healing and reaching your personal goals.
