In partnership with our brother program, AnchorPoint, we provide residential treatment under the same clinical leadership and ensure a coordinated, seamless transition. Together, we guide men of all faiths to reclaim their strength, break the cycle of trauma, and overcome addiction.
Throughout the recovery programs at Holdfast Recovery and AnchorPoint, we know men grow stronger together. Inspired by Proverbs 27:17—“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another”—our brotherhood supports each man in rediscovering purpose, building strength, and reigniting passion for a healthy life.
Our Arizona desert campus is a place for men to reconnect with God, themselves, and their purpose. Through guided outdoor adventures, biblical donkey experiences, and immersive wellness, we combine structured clinical care with opportunities to strengthen body, mind, and spirit—all in a private, discreet setting.

We support men with the following Substance Use Disorders:
We provide specialized care for men from all backgrounds across the nation, recognizing that each recovery journey is unique.
Our programs are designed to address the challenges faced by men in diverse roles and life circumstances who are seeking treatment, as well as the loved ones helping them take the first step.
We specialize in supporting men battling addiction who are:
We work with most major insurance providers, including Aetna, Cigna, GEHA, TriWest, and many employee or benefits plans, and offer financing solutions to make quality, faith-centered care within reach. Our goal is to let you focus on recovery, not paperwork
We partner with trusted local detox facilities so you can safely withdraw from opioids, alcohol, and benzos before starting residential treatment. Our admissions team handles the paperwork so you can focus on your affairs at home and arrive ready for treatment.
We support a seamless transition from residential care to an intensive, structured PHP program. PHP provides 6 hours of daily treatment, 5 days a week, balancing clinical structure with real-world integration.
We coordinate a smooth step-down process to a two-phase Intensive Outpatient Program that meets 5 days a week for 3 hours, or 3 days per week for 3 hours.
Our structured, Christ-centered sober living homes offer long-term housing for those in recovery, with 24/7 support and accountability from dedicated staff. These foster lasting friendships and a shared commitment to personal growth.
Therapies such as CBT and DBT help identify harmful patterns, develop emotional regulation, and build healthier coping strategies grounded in truth and reason. EMDR targets the impact of trauma, rewiring painful memories for spiritual and psychological renewal.
Every step of our program is guided by a Christ-centered framework that emphasizes deep spiritual and emotional transformation. Men are encouraged to heal old wounds, break cycles of trauma, discover their purpose, and find strength in recovery.
Our team understands the struggles men encounter when addressing past trauma, particularly in a culture that often discourages openness. We support men in developing emotional and physical resilience to help them take ownership of their experiences and reclaim their stories.
Brotherhood is central to the recovery journey. Men gain strength through spiritual fellowship, participating in 12-step programs, NA, AA, and Bible study groups. This supportive community provides encouragement, guidance, and accountability, helping men grow.
Our team collaborates with licensed medical professionals to provide medication-assisted treatment (MAT) for alcohol and opioid use disorder, a safe and evidence-based approach to managing cravings and supporting recovery. While we do not prescribe methadone on-site, we can coordinate care with existing providers, including structured tapering plans when appropriate.
Daily gym access and regular strength-training exercises foster discipline and physical resilience, helping clients repair the damage caused by addiction and reignite a sense of personal stewardship over their bodies.
Our residential and outpatient programs are built on Neurofaith™, developed by Dr. Jeffrey E. Hansen, PhD, an integrative approach that combines traditional evidence-based practices, innovative techniques rooted in neuroscience, trauma-informed care, and Christ-centered renewal.
CBT helps men identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns that drive destructive behaviors. By learning to replace distorted beliefs with healthier perspectives, clients gain practical tools to support emotional regulation, personal responsibility, and lasting recovery.
DBT builds essential skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, and improving relationships. This structured approach supports men in developing self-control, resilience, and healthier responses to stress without returning to addictive behaviors.
EMDR targets unresolved trauma by helping the brain reprocess painful memories that remain stuck in the nervous system. As traumatic responses lose their emotional charge, men often experience relief from triggers, cravings, and shame that contribute to addiction.
Our family therapy offers men practical tools to repair and renew relationships damaged by addiction. Clients learn to end toxic relationship cycles, communicate honestly, and set healthy boundaries, empowering them to become better leaders.
Working alongside donkeys offers a powerful, experiential path to recovery. Through guided interaction, men develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, trust, and leadership, lessons that translate into healthier relationships, increased confidence, and spiritual growth.
Polyvagal therapy teaches clients how to recognize and regulate their nervous system responses, breaking free from the patterns of deep-rooted fear and hypervigilance often stemming from trauma and contributing to addiction.
Practical skills to manage stress and emotions through heart-centered breathing and coherence exercises. These foster spiritual and emotional balance by helping clients align their hearts and minds, which is foundational to walking in faith and overcoming addiction.
IFS offers a powerful framework for clients to rebuild broken internal “parts” fractured by trauma and move past feelings of guilt and shame. This can help them reclaim identity through spiritual growth and break the chains of addiction.
Experiential tools to build authentic brotherhood, foster trust, connection, and emotional safety within the group. Through relational experiences and exercises, men learn new ways to support one another, reflecting the biblical call to bear one another’s burdens.

What insurance do you accept?
We accept most major commercial insurance plans, including Aetna, BlueCross BlueShield, Cigna, United Healthcare, Humana, GEHA, Carelon, ComPsych, and more. Please note: we do not accept Medicare or Medicaid. Use our insurance verification form above for a free, confidential benefits check.
Do you have to be religious to attend Holdfast Recovery?
You don’t need to come in with strong faith—just an open heart. Our program is rooted in Christian values and uses faith as a framework for healing, but we welcome men who are spiritually curious, doubting, or simply looking for something more than a traditional rehab. Many of our clients found or renewed their faith during their time here.
Do you accept men from outside of Arizona?
Absolutely. We welcome men from all 50 states. Our admissions team can help you navigate travel logistics, and many of our clients find that leaving their home environment is actually one of the most powerful parts of their recovery. Prescott, Arizona’s natural setting, becomes part of the healing process.
How quickly can you get admitted?
We offer same-day admissions when availability allows. Once you call or submit your information, an admissions specialist will reach out immediately to verify your insurance and walk you through the next steps. The sooner you reach out, the sooner we can get you started.
What does a typical day look like?
Days at Holdfast are structured and purposeful. You can expect morning devotionals, individual and group therapy sessions, fitness activities, including our CrossFit partnership, evening Christian community events, and 12-step meetings. The schedule is intentionally full because healing happens when the mind and body are both engaged.
Are your treatment programs only for men?
Yes, Holdfast Recovery is a men ‘s-only program. This is intentional because men recover differently, and the brotherhood and community that form in a single-gender environment are among the things our alumni consistently cite as transformational.
Does insurance cover rehab if you are from out of state?
Many insurance plans cover out-of-state rehab, but it’s best to verify your specific benefits with your provider. Our admissions team can help you understand your coverage, overcome financial barriers, and access care.
Men travel from Arizona and across the nation for a structured, evidence-based approach that strengthens the mind, restores identity, and builds lasting recovery through faith, brotherhood, and Christ.

Unlike no other. Holdfast has been a life saving Christian based spirit filled residential treatment center based on the 12 steps. Instead of dreading the classes and meetings I look forward to all of it. The brotherhood of men here is very strong and I’m healing Godspeed.

I highly recommend Holdfast Recovery. My life fell apart faster than a bridge collapse, I lost everything. Through, this program I gained everything. It’s not instantaneous, it’s a lifestyle, much like how living in addiction is a lifestyle.
Things didn’t fall apart overnight (although it may have seemed like it) they won’t come back together overnight.
This was a Godsend in my life, and finding this facility was only through the work of God.
There is something happening at Holdfast that has changed my course, and has allowed me to slowly regain contact with my daughter.
The staff is amazing, and this was the right place for me.
I cannot express the life change I’ve gained enough.
